In Group G if Germany and the USA hold on to a draw, both teams will be through to the last 16, but there are many reasons to go for a win, one being to top the group and stay unbeaten. Both Germany and the USA have one win and a draw in their kitty coming into the game. If anyone losses this match they will have to depend on the result of Ghana vs. Portugal game. 6) The USA have scored in all of their previous eight games and seven of them have come after half-time.

7) Overall head to head these two teams have met on nine occasions, Germany won six fixtures and USA three.
