FIFA 2014 has already started with a surprise and is filled with many more. Lionel Messi added one such surprise when he scored his second World Cup goal after eight years and 623 minutes of game. Messi’s 65thminute goal walked Argentina into victory. This goal came in after a wide range of criticism and a below-par first half performance by the Barcelona star.
The goal will go right down to history as it broke Messi’s taboo and help Argentina walk towards the finals. As most pundits have predicted a Brazil- Argentina final this season. Messi scored his debut goal in the 2006 world Cup against Serbia and Montenegro in Argentina’s 6-0 victory.
