Star striker Neymar scored a harsh penalty to score two goals as Brazil beat Croatia 3-1 in the opening game of the World Cup in the opening match.
The first goal on the night was a rather unusual one as Brazil’s left-back Marcelo scored an own goal from an Ivica Olic cross from the left. Brazil then looked riled up as they were trailing in their own backyard but soon equalized in the 30th minute of the game.
The star then put Brazil ahead from a highly controversial penalty in the second half when Fred fell in the area from slight contact. Croatia felt like they were robbed but Japanese referee Yuichi Nishimura was having none of it. Oscar then rounded off the scoring in injury time with a brilliant solo goal.
