Costa Rica vs England, FIFA World Cup 2014: Facts Punch of 37th Match

After stupendous show against Uruguay and Italy, Costa Rica now faces the already eliminated England. Costa Rica leads the group and will aim to stay unbeaten going into the next round while England will look to fly back home with at least a win. This will be for the first time these two teams face other, here are some more facts

1) Against European sides Costa Rica have played seven World matches, winning three, losing three and drawing one game.

2) In nine of their last 10 matches in the World Cup Costa Rica have scored at least one goal.

3) Since 1985 World Cup England have been eliminated at the group stage for the first time.

4) This is also the first time England have lost opening two games at the World Cup.

5) Mega event of 1958 remains the only World Cup in which England have failed to win a game, drawing three and losing one.

6) Out of their last seven World Cup matches England have managed to win only one.

7) Against CONCACAF nations England have played four World Cup games, winning two while losing and drawing the rest two.
