Group of Death, D had three former champions placed in it and sandwiched in-between them was Costa Rica. It was always about who two out of three will progress to last 16, but Costa Rica surprised one and all with their proficient performance to be the first team from the group to qualify. England are already out, now Italy and Uruguay tied at three points each sweat it out to be the second team from the group to progress. As these former champions get ready to fight for one spot left from Group D we present to you some facts
1) Italy will only need a draw to advance to knockout stage courtesy their superior goal difference.
2) Out of 19 World Cup games against South American opposition Italy have lost just three.
3) 18 times Italy have been caught offside in their previous two games while Uruguay nine times.
